As I reflected on my past teacher blog, I decided it was time for a
fresh approach. That was the easy decision, the tougher decision was
what to name this new blog. "The view from Room 1" seemed like a good
fit for a few reasons. One, my new classroom doesn't have any windows
besides the ones in the doors. Also, I do enjoy the idea of being room
1, has a nice ring to it! :)
Like life, teaching is all about your perspective. As a special
education teacher for students with significant intellectual
disabilities, perspective is what you make of it. I have the coolest
seven students that I know and seeing what they can accomplish each and
every day is a blast! What you see at first glance does not represent
what you will see if you truly stop and enjoy the moment.
